Description
Five degrees, barefoot, short and t-shirt soaked through, standing in moving water for 30 minutes, thanks for the small rocks who gave me few breaks, while the fog sat on Cascade Mountain and refused to move. I wasn’t waiting for it to clear. I was waiting for the one moment it would thin out just enough to let light through. That’s the part of landscape photography nobody sees in the final image: the discomfort that comes before it. The shot only exists because I stayed in conditions that gave me every reason to leave.
