Description
Resting amidst the coastal brush in Victoria, BC, a Great Blue Heron pauses its watchful hunting routine to catch a moment of sleep. These majestic, tall wading birds are typically seen actively stalking fish along Canada's shorelines, standing perfectly still before striking with lightning speed. I came across this one, eyes shut and its long neck drawn tightly into its shoulders, this dreamy scene reminds us that even nature's most vigilant hunters require a peaceful moment of respite to recharge.
